What is NCSC's immediate goal?

The immediate goal is to purchase the land for the proposed project. A committee has already been formed to research the potential temple site. The estimated land areas is 4-6 acreas and the land purchase price is $300K - $500 K. Thus our goal is to raise $500,000 to buy the land by the end of 2009

What is NCSC doing to meet the immediate goal?

We have been trying to increase the number of founding members (who will donate $2500 or more) to 150.  Once this target is met, we will go to ALL Nepali community members for further donation collection

Has NCSC looked at trying to obtain a loan for the land?

+ No:  Buying land through taking a loan from a Mortgage Company requires commitment (signature) from the community members to pay back the loan in monthly installments (legal hassles). So, we prefer collecting financial resources from community members and launch the project which will be with in the our financial reach/capacity

How can I help?

Any community member can help with this noble project by making a donation, creating/implementing variety of fund raising ideas,  spreading positive words about the project,  informing the community about the project, and inspiring family or friends to get involved in any aspects of the project (which may include: web side design, landscaping design, cultural center design, temple structure design, creating of database, organizing fund raising events/activities, writing of brochure/publication materials, increasing member etc) The dream of a Nepalese community in DFW having its own community center will not be true without the active participation of every individual and member of  the community.

How can I stay informed?

We have been updating the community about the development of NCSC through the NSTgoogle email system. If you are not listed in this email group, please send us an e-mail to our Communication Coordinator of NCSC so that we can add your e-mail address in the system.. Moreover, we are in a process to create web pages. We will post all decisions, developments, and future plans in the web. We will inform the whole community once we complete the web.
